Mental Illness, The Number One Cause Of Disability. Why?

These days, we hear a lot about how we should be eating lots of fruits and vegetables because they are healthy for us. And, we should reduce our intake of red meat and saturated animal fats because those foods are bad for us. If you’re tuned into the media, you’ve probably heard that red meat causes everything from cancer to global warming. What's the real scoop according to the experts?

There's a lot more to this story that you need to know or you might be tempted to believe the flawed science and recent media hype relentlessly promoting plant-based diets. Don’t let this cloud your vision when it comes to your health and longevity. It’s time to debunk any false beliefs you might have about eating meat. If you’re like almost every client I work with, you have been seriously misled and need to be re-educated about this.

We have to look at the real science here, not the media, which is paid for by big pharma, or the propaganda from the fake meat industry. I always like to follow science to get real answers to my most pressing health questions. Not the science funded by big pharma. That is not real science and you have to know the difference.

We know (based on lots of good scientific studies) that a low-carb, high-fat diet is one that can reverse all sorts of metabolic diseases and is essential for the metabolic management of cancer. This has been scientifically proven for over the last 40 years. But what type of protein and fat IS healthy to eat. What do vegetarians do to recover from cancer?

Thousands of people have experienced radical remission from cancer. What are they eating? Does diet even matter? Well, if you ask me, and many others who are seeing radical remissions from cancer, diet very much matters! Animal protein is the most bioavailable source of protein for the human body. It is absolutely essential for healing and repair. It is also needed to build strong bones.

A recent 2020 study
examined 55,000 people over 18 years studying their bone strength and fractures. That’s a sizable study! Dr. Tammy Tong, Nutritional Epidemiologist at the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford, and the lead author said: "This is the first comprehensive study on the risks of both total and site-specific fractures in people of different diet groups. We found that vegans had a higher risk of total fractures which resulted in close to 20 more cases per 1000 people over a 10-year period compared to people who ate meat. The biggest differences were for hip fractures, where the risk in vegans was 2.3 times higher than in people who ate meat, equivalent to 15 more cases per 1000 people over 10 years."

In other words, bones are much less strong in those people who do not consume animal protein! You need protein to build bone.

You may argue that plants are detoxifying, yet I will say that it’s impossible to detoxify your body with a leaky gut. With a leaky gut, everything you eat is like a river of toxins flowing into your bloodstream.

Once these toxins get into your bloodstream, they attach themselves to the soft connective tissues, organs, lymph nodes, joints, brain, and nervous system causing disease symptoms such as dementia, Alzheimer's Parkinson's, anxiety, depression, MS chronic fatigue, IBS, osteoporosis, arthritis, gout, chronic urinary discomfort, unexplained vaginal pain, and the list goes on! All plants contain toxins. Some more than others. These toxins are called anti-nutrients because they block the absorption of nutrients into the cells. If you are particularly sensitive to anti-nutrients, a full elimination, gut-healing diet is critical to reverse disease.

Across the board, gut-healing experts agree that the fastest path to healing a leaky gut, which is the epicenter of systemic inflammation, is to remove all plants from your diet for a period of time. Some people can detoxify their body enough to eat plants after their gut is healed and others who are more sensitive have to be very careful reintroducing plants.

Let’s hear what the world’s leading scientists and nutritionists have to say about eating meat. I want you to hear this directly from the best research scientist and doctors in the world. Watch the videos below. And check out the nutritional value of plants versus animal foods in the chart below. These are essential nutrients! If you want boost your nutrient levels without taking pills and supplements -- animal products are the way!

An absolute resuscitation for an anemic person is eating liver. Liver is a true powerhouse of nutrition. Whichever nutrient you take, you will find it in abundance in liver [...]  ~ Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, author of GAPS™, Gut and Psychology Syndrome: Natural Treatment for Autism, Dyspraxia, A.D.D., Dyslexia, A.D.H.D., Depression, Schizophrenia

Not only is it NOT scientifically proven that red meat causes cancer, it may be argued that it prevents it. Not only that, but there are multiple studies that show that eating meat can improve cognitive function and prevent serious mental illnesses. A 2017, World Health Organization (WHO) report stated that mental illness was the leading cause of disability worldwide (World Health Organization 2017). Many doctors believe this could be related to a decrease in meat consumption.

In a recent 2021 study titled, "Meat and mental health: A meta-analysis of meat consumption, depression, and anxiety", it looked 171, 802 participants consisting of meat abstainers and meat eaters and found that, "Meat consumption was associated with lower depression and lower anxiety compared to meat abstention. (https://doi.org/10.1080/10408398.2021.1974336)

In another very recent 2020 study titled, "Meat and mental health: a systematic review of meat abstention and depression, anxiety, and related phenomena", that looked at 160,257 participants and found that, "The most rigorous studies demonstrated that the prevalence or risk of depression and/or anxiety were significantly greater in participants who avoided meat consumption." This study concluded that,  "those who avoided meat consumption had significantly higher rates or risk of depression, anxiety, and/or self-harm behaviors." (https://doi.org/10.1080/10408398.2020.1741505)

We've all been brain washed to believe that eating meat is bad for us and it's time to rethink this mental programming. Plant foods pale in comparison to the nutrients found in animal products. See the graph below for more details. If you want to heal your body, you should absolutely be eating animal protein and organs! For further discussions on this watch the videos below.

Salt is an essential nutrient. Our body requires sodium (contained in salt) for all of our cells to function properly, especially our brain and nervous system. The human body cannot produce sodium, and therefore, it must come from the foods we eat and from the salt we put on our food.
